LIVINGSTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Established to help the community understand and enjoy the rich heritage of our township. Open meetings are held on the fourth Monday, September – April, at the Senior/Community Center about subjects of local historical interest. The Society maintains the Ely Cemetery which is open to the public on Memorial and Veteran’s Days, and has restored and maintains the interior contents of the Force Homestead. Annual dues are $5.00 per person.

The Society observed its 40th anniversary on March 9, 2003 with an open house in the historical Force Home. In 1963 the town acquired the Force Home and then-township manager Robert Harp urged that the historic house be turned into a museum and that a group of volunteers be solicited to maintain the site.
