If Livingston Schools are closed, there are no league or open play activities.
ALL ADULT RECREATIONAL SPORTS ACTIVITIES ARE OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS:
Resident Fee (R):
1. Anyone listed on a roster since 1992 = R rate
2. Current Livingston residents = R rate
Non-Resident Fee (NR):
1. Anyone who attended or graduated from Livingston High School or a private school while a resident of Livingston = NR rate
2. Anyone who works full-time, year round (30+ hours/week) for a business in Livingston which pays taxes to Livingston = NR rate
BADMINTON
Open Play Co-Ed Badminton: Open to individuals 18 years of age and older, the program meets on Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Middle School Gym from 7:30—1oPM begining in October and ending in April. All open play activities require pre-registration at Senior, Youth and Leisure Services. NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED ON SITE. This program runs October – April.
BASKETBALL
Men’s Basketball League
Teams must pre-register at the SYLS Office. No registrations will be accepted at the gymnasium. Individuals looking to join a team should contact the SYLS Office at 973-535-7925. This program runs December through mid March.
Coaches Clinic – Travel and In-Town Basketball
This is a must for anyone planning on coaching in our Travel or In-Town Basketball Program. The clinic is designed to teach the mechanics and techniques of coaching our children. Emphasis will be on how to set up age appropriate practice drills and coaching techniques leading our players towards a fun and learning experience in our program as well as preparing them for school sports. LHS Varsity Boys Head Coach David Cohen and LHS Varsity Girls Coach Patty Kaes will conduct this one night clinic. Advance registration required at SYLS Office. This clinic is held in November.
Basketball Officials Clinic
An all inclusive course designed to teach rules, rule interpretations, mechanics and techniques of refereeing youth basketball games. Take the clinic for general information and better understanding of basketball or to become a Basketball Official. Qualifying participants may become paid referees for our Recreation Youth Basketball Program.

GOLF
Adult/Teen Golf Clinics – Ages: Livingston Men, Women and Children
All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Each class will teach the proper mechanics to all levels of golfers. Learn the golf swing and all other basics such as putting, short game, hybrids and woods. Golf Professionals and assistants at the facility will teach all classes. Class size is limited to 16 participants/minimum of 10 on a first come – first served basis.

Millburn Par 3 Golf Club Memberships – Ages: 18 and over
The Township of Millburn offers to Livingston residents golf memberships to the Township Par 3 Golf Course located in Gero Park on White Oak Ridge Road. Livingston residents can sign up online beginning March 1st by going to http://register.communitypass.net/millburn. Residents can register online or by mail beginning March 1st. If members have their Millburn Photo ID Badge from 2012, they can use the same badge in 2013. If you are a first time Par 3 member, they must register online or by mail and also email or mail in a photo. Men 18 and over — M1, M2, M3 & M4
Men 35 and over — MA & MB
All teams are competitive within their divisions. Registration is by team only. Individuals without a team may contact the Senior, Youth & Leisure Services Office for information about starting a new team or possible placement on an existing team. This program begins in Mid April and finishes in August.

A.S.A Softball Umpire Clinic
MEN & WOMEN 16 & OVER: Become an A.S.A. certified softball official
An excellent opportunity for additional income officiating the Recreation, High School and College softball games An all inclusive course designed to teach rules, rule interpretations, mechanics and techniques of umpiring Fast and Slow Pitch Softball. Join for general information and better understanding of Softball, the world’s largest participant sport, or to qualify as an umpire. Qualifying individuals will be eligible for A.S.A. National Certification through a local chapter.
Instructor: M. Bruce Kaufmann, A.S.A. District Commissioner; A.S.A., N.J.S.I.A.A. & N.J.B.C.S.U. Certified. Co-sponsored by the Livingston Chapter of A.S.A. and Livingston Senior, Youth & Leisure Services.

TENNIS
Adult Tennis Lessons – Ages: 18 and over
Beginner and Intermediate Classes offered
Professionals will provide Tennis instruction for Livingston adults at Heritage tennis courts. Register for only one session within sessions 1 through 4 and one session within 5 and 6. In the event of rain, make-up classes will be added to the end of the sessions if possible or on another day or evening the following week. Morning classes may be held inside—space permitting. One unopened can of USTA approved tennis balls must be brought to the first class. Registration is limited to 10 per class session. No refunds for missed classes.
VOLLEYBALL

Green Streaks Power Volleyball Program for Girls and Women
Instructional power volleyball program for Girls and Women (grades 9 and up) under the direction of experienced volleyball coaches. Training and practice sessions meet Tuesdays from October through April. Opportunities for weekend tournament play.
