YOUTH SWIM LESSONS

Classes are available to Livingston residents age three and over by June 30, of the current calendar year regardless of pool membership status. Students are divided into classes based on skill levels. A child may be registered for only one session at a time.  For more information, contact SYLS at 973-535-7925

Testing Schedule: All participants must be tested by members of the swim staff to insure placement in the correct level. Testing is done at Haines Memorial Pool and appointments may be made by calling the SYLS Office at 973-535-7925.

Adult Swim Lessons – NEW
Ages:     18 and over
This class is designed to provide group instruction and orient participants to the water and teach basic swimming skills to develop confidence and competency. Trained instructors will teach the class based on the participants skill levels. In the event sessions are cancelled, attempts will be made for make-up classes based on pool and instructor availability. Call SYLS at 973-535-7925 for details.

Handicapped Swim

Open swim for people with disabilities is held at Northland Pool on Sunday mornings, June 23—August 18 from 11AM—12PM.  Pool membership is not required and non-residents are welcome; however, preregistration is required by June 7.  Forms are available at the SYLS Office, mailed upon request by calling 973-535-7925 or may be downloaded Recreational Swim Program for the Handicapped

Aquajets Swim Team

Open to pool members ages 6—18, the Aquajets Swim Team competes with other communities in the Northern New Jersey Suburban Swim League in a number of home and away meets. Age categories are 6—8, 9—10, 11—12, 13—14 & 15—18. Ages are determined as of June 1, 2011. All practices and home meets are held at Haines Memorial Pool.

NOTE:  Swimmers are required to attend a minimum of 3 practices per week. This is a competitive team that enhances individual’s skills for competition. Not to be used as swimming lessons.

Splashercise: Ages: 18+. This program features aerobic exercises and a total body workout in the water.  In the event of rain, participants should wear sneakers to participate in an indoor aerobic class at Northland Recreation Center. Limit: 30

Aqua Zumba: (Summer only) Jump into the Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning, dance fitness party that makes working out a splash. Class is held at Northland Pool. Limit: 20
